Actor Charlie Sheen has been arrested in Aspen on charges of domestic assault.

Authorities say the Pitkin County Communications Center received a 911 call to a home at 320 West Hallam Street at about 8:30 a.m. on Christmas Day.

Officers from Aspen Police Department responded and investigated the incident. They took 44-year-old Charlie Sheen, whose real name is Carlos Irwin Estevez, into custody for felony second-degree assault, felony menacing and criminal mischief.

Officials said the charges are coupled with a domestic violence component.

An ambulance responded to the scene but the alleged victim did not require hospitalization. No further details about the incident were released.

A police spokeswoman in Aspen says Sheen posted bond Friday afternoon and was released from jail. Stephanie Dasaro says Sheen posted $8,500 bond after speaking with a county judge and was advised on the conditions of his release.

Charlie Sheen, star of the hit TV sitcom 'Two and a Half Men' and son of actor Martin Sheen, is married to his third wife, Brooke Mueller. The couple's twin boys, Bob and Max, were born in March 2009. He also has two daughters with actress Denise Richards who filed for divorce in 2005, and another daughter with former girlfriend Paula Profit.
