Eddie Vedder
Who does not recognize the name “Eddie Vedder” the famous U.S singer, musician and song writer? Eddie Vedder joined “Pearl Jam” back in 1990 to become the lead vocalist and guitarist for the rock band.
Eddie Vedder used to live in Southern California, but moved to D.C area to become one of the legendry vocalist and guitarist for “Pearl Jam”. Well known for his “golden baritone” singing style, he got the fair share of fame in early 90’s soon after joining the rock band. Eddie Vedder became the cultural icon for alternative rock in the era.
After that there is no stopping back for Vedder, his solo work and contributions to various music albums by several other artists are well appreciated by the fans. His first solo album as a soundtrack for Sean Penn’s hit film “Into the Wild” was released in 2007.
Vedder recorded “Hard Sun” for the film that won many awards, the tune originally belonged to Gordon Peterson, which he wrote back in 1987. The thing which made Peterson unhappy was that Vedder altered the lyrics for the 1987 tune “Hard Sun”.
Gordon Peterson is now suing Eddie Vedder and Universal Music Group for altering the key lyrics of the tune. Recently Peterson filed papers in N.Y Manhattan federal court.
Eddie Vedder attorney recently told N.Y Post that they do not see any basis for the infringement of copyright claim.
I say we have to wait and see what will be the final verdict from the federal court.
