According to recent reports from mlb.com, the Atlanta Braves have just signed free-agent Troy Glaus on a one-year contract today. The deal is still pending on Troy’s physical, but if he passes then he will be playing first base.

33-year old Troy was limited to only 14 games with the Cardinals this past season, after he underwent surgery on his right shoulder in January. When he returned to the field in September, he batted .172 with two RBI’s.

Glaus, who is a four-time All-Star and a two-time Silver Slugger, has played a total of 1,336 career games at third base and only six at first base. And all of those appearances have come within the past two seasons.
