Dubai Desert Classic Jimenez beats Westwood to title

hree bogeys and just one birdie saw Jeev Milkha Singh's hopes of a top-10 finish at the Dubai Desert Classic end prematurely Sunday.
Jeev, ninth overnight, found bogeys on the second and ninth and from there on, he struggled to stay in the hunt. He had one birdie on 10th and a bogey on 16th for a 74 that saw him finish the week in tied 15th place.
Veteran Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez beat the European Tour No.1 Lee Westwood on the third play-off after both were tied at 11-under 277. They both shot 72 each and Westwood needed a birdie on 18th to get into the play-off. In the play-off, both parred the 18th and then Jimenez again parred the ninth, but Westwood bogeyed to give the Spaniard the title.
Shiv Kapur shot a 74 and finished in tied 51st place at two-over for the week and SSP Chowrasia shot a final 76 and finished four-over in 60th place.
