In the latest blog post updating its customers on the status of PayPal services in India, spokesman Anuj Nayar has explained why the operations have been suspended along with informing that suspension of transactions in the country could last months.

We temporarily suspended these services to respond to enquiries from the Indian regulators, specifically questions on whether personal payments constitute remittances into India," the post said, adding that the company is working with the regulators and bank processing partners to resolve the issue as quickly as possibly.

Personal payments to and from India will be suspended for at least a few months until PayPal fully resolves the questions from the Indian regulators, Mr Anuj said.
However, the local bank withdrawal, which were also suspended earlier, can be expected to be available within a few days, the blog added.
The blog 'Update on PayPal situation in India' goes on to answer queries and doubts that PayPal customers may have, such as What to do if left with a negative balance due to the PayPal reversal?, and What to do if a non-personal payment has been reversed?
