Shooting reported at NIU

According to the NIU’s Website, there has been a shooting on the campus of Northern Illinois University (NIU) in Dekalb. The report says that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident between two individuals. The initial alert of the NIU shooting was issued at 4:29 a.m. The shooting occurred near the Stevenson Residence Hall and police have arrested one person.

In the shooting one student injured and taken to the Kishwaukee Community Hospital for treatment but his condition was not confirmed. Rport also said that the NIU campus will remain open and classes will be held as usual. Around 4:10 this morning NIU public safety also sent out a text message alert to the students about shooting.

According to latest update NIU campus safety & security has announced “All Clear” on campus. They also advise all students to take extra precaution.
