The Green Hornet stays on top at foreign box-office

398The 3D superhero saga starring Seth Rogan and Jay Chou has earned $61 million overseas and has fared exceedingly well at Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia.
The Green Hornet led the foreign box-office for a second consecutive weekend last Sunday, earning just $15.7 million from 64 markets.
The foreign total for the 3D superhero saga starring Seth Rogan stands at $61 million. Weekend highlights were No. 1 openings in co-star Jay Chou’s native Taiwan ($1.2 million), as well as in Singapore and Malaysia.
Bolstered by a muscular No 1, $7.3 million opening in the U.K., where it ended the three-week reign of Oscars front-runner The King’s Speech, Tangled followed at No 2 internationally with $14.7 million from 43 markets. The Disney cartoon’s foreign total rose to $254.3 million.
King’s Speech, riding high after scoring 12 Oscar nominations, slipped to No 2 in Britain with $5.5 million, ahead of new releases Black Swan at No 3 with $4.2 million and The Mechanic at No 4 with $3.9 million.
