THE WWE star The Undertaker, suffered burns during his entry into the wrestling ring, when a pyrotechnician mistimed the release of flames, which were part of his dramatic entry. For a moment, the wrestler was engulfed in a fireball.
The Undertaker was at the Scottrade Center pay per view event, The Elimination Chamber. As he started his dramatic entry through the flames, as per WWE, the pyrotechnics operator mistimed the release of the flames, causing two huge fire ball to shoot up even as the wrestler was stepping over that particular spot.
The wrestler ran through, though fans feared his condition, as he was momentarily engulfed in fire. The flames caught on to his jacket which he quickly threw off. This ensured that the dangerous situation was quickly averted and the Undertaker had only recieved some minor burns.
He went on to participate in the fight, but the day turned out to be not in his favour. He lost the wrestling match against Chris Jericho. Fans have reported that he was given water bottles throughout the match, off camera, to ease his burns.
Robert Zimmerman, spokesman for WWE said, "Thank God he was fine, It basically amounted to a sunburn. It wasn't over a large area of his body, just a short area, just a little bit on his chest."
In response with queries on whether flamethrowers would be removed from the WWE once and for all, he said,"I don't know. I haven't spoken to anyone to find out what was the cause, if it was timing, if there was something wrong with whatever. We have to go back and investigate and make a final determination."
