BMW’s SUV ‘X1′ Roll Out in India, Costs Rs 29.9 Lakhs

NEW DELHI: Living up to its words, German luxury car maker BMW has launched its much anticipated Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), ‘X1’ in India on December 23. BMW X1 will be available in both Petrol and Diesel variants offering ultimate driving experience and fuel economy. The 3 variants of the SUV are BMW X1 sDrive18i (petrol), BMW X1 sDrive20d (diesel) and BMW X1 sDrive20d Exclusive (diesel).BMW-X1
Speaking on the launch Dr. Andreas Schaaf, President, BMW India said, “The new BMW X1 is a modern vehicle that for the first time brings premium BMW characteristics into the compact vehicle segment. The new BMW X1 sets a benchmark by bringing together features of a Sports Activity Vehicle with spontaneous flexibility and outstanding fuel economy. The new BMW X1 is the perfect vehicle for customers focusing on areas such as leisure activities and lifestyle in their choice of car.”
The all new BMW X1 will be CKD (completely knocked-down unit) assembled at the company’s Chennai plant. X1 possess a fairly rugged build which makes it dynamic and a great overall package for genuine softroader enthusiasts in India.

The X1 will come powered by a 1995cc, 4 cylinders, 16-valve, twin-turbocharged diesel engine with 3 different maximum power options including 143 hp, 177hp and 204 hp, along with peak torques of 320 Nm, 350 Nm and 400 Nm, respectively. All variants of this SUV are expected to come mated with 6-speed manual transmission.
The car will be available in various dazzling color options that include Black Sapphire, Cashmere Silver, Deep Sea Blue, Graphite Blue, Marrakesh Brown, Space Grey, Sparkling Bronze, Tasman, Titanium Silver and Vermilion Red.
BMW X1 Price in India:
BMW X1 sDrive18i (Petrol) will be available with a cost tag of Rs. 22,00,000 (ex-showroom, all-India).
BMW X1sDrive20d (Diesel) will be available with a cost tag of Rs. 23,90,000 (ex-showroom, all-India)
BMW X1sDrive20d (Exclusive) will be available with a cost tag of Rs. 29,90,000 (ex-showroom, all-India)
The car can now be ordered at BMW dealerships across India.
